though it's not the end of the month i thought i'd make my second blog post about something more personal (also because i'm not at home so i can't blog about things that i want to). as some of my muses know, music makes up a big part of my life and i don't know who i'd be without it. i am a huuuuge fan of korean pop and i already know that there'll be two kinds of reactions from the people reading this right now. either a., "OH COOL I AM AN ARMY TOO XD JIMIN YOU GOT NO JAMS" or b., "ew the small dick asian boys? they all look alike. *listens to 1 direction and reminisces on early 2013 #larry*", which is exactly why i decided to include this first song:
1. esta - can't wait (ft. spzrkt)
i originally found this song whilst watching vivian vo farmer's (youtuber) video, i don't recall which one though, but with the heat waves that hit me this summer it was exactly what i needed. the super chill beat and the lyrics referencing the boyfriend that i don't have is super dope and one of the 'characteristics' that i look for in good quality music. don't get me wrong, american songs are great but if you haven't dipped your toes into kpop i don't know if we can be friends (i'm just kidding geez, talk to me pls)
2. brave girls - high heels
you've probably heard of brave girls' deepened but never really got into listening to their album or any of their other stuff, lol me too though. my friend introduced me to this song not personally, but to our other friend that wasn't sure which song she should sing. don't get thrown off by the ugly bang bang bang intro. wow did i really just diss bigbang, the kings? wow i'm probably going to get hella hate, "who even blogs anymore bitch? ya look like a dark butthole anyway!!", but you ain't wrong though. honest to the avocado tree, i love bigbang. i'm getting really off topic but just give this song a shot, it gets really good.
3. g.soul - where do we go from here
now if i'm correct, i believe that g.soul trained for 15 years before debuting? i love this guy's dedication AND his music. he projects this very r&b kind of voice and if you're new to kpop and you're into bryson tiller you should check him out. the lyrics portray a couple that are on a rocky path, and the boyfriend's just singing his thoughts out like, "where do we go from here? i just don't get it baby, how did we end up here?" and me being my single ass i just relate to it somehow. i don't really know. this man will make a perfect husband. he trained for 15 years and doesn't hold any grudges against his company. that's beautiful. if you eat my fucking noodles i will cut you.
4. monsta x - ex girl (feat. whee in)
i've been really into monsta x these days and i will literally suck toes (i don't have a toe fetish trust me) to meet them. this song is really catchy and the fact that the homies got whee in to sing the female part, ugh my heart is melting. i don't have much to say for this song except the fact that all my exes have never fought for me like this? lol fuck you guys. i'm just kidding, but the lyrics just serenade me and put me into this sort of mood, like the mood where you're like why don't you just get back together is it that hard!!!?! but of course, it is whee in and monsta x so you knowwww. give this song a shot, it's super catchy and you'll probably thank me.
5. sam kim - touch my body
i feel like there's sort of been this rave over sam kim, not only because he was on one of those shows where you compete to debut but also because it's cool to like starting artists and brag to your friends later when they get hella famous that you liked him even before he got popular. he's a handsome stud and he's really talented. i highly recommend his debut album, "I AM SAM KIM", because all the tracks are so charming. if you've been around my blog you would've seen this on my favorite song of the month tab, i'm not really sure if it's going to be changing next month though. i feel like i sort of relate to sam because of his weight loss journey, and i feel like we could be friends and motivate each other. lol i'm such a loser. i think that part of his motivation was his own self confidence and the fact that korea will literally throw you all the way down to hell if you're fat. regardless, sam's really handsome and numbers shouldn't be his whole description. give this addicting song a go because i did all of june - august.
6. bigstar - full moon shine
honestly i had no idea who bigstar was, the only reason as to why i found this song was because of a vine of jb. not the canadian jb but the korean jb lol. the vine played a snippet of this song and i thought it was jay park?? i'm such a fake jay park fan oh gosh. this song is really catchy and it gives me that 2007 vibe i don't know i'm probably referencing the wrong year whoops but there's this line that is really catchy like the "baby baby" thing and i say it probably 10 times a day to my cousin. i have no clue if bigstar is still active, but i hope they are or else 'bigstar' would now be 'bigflop'.
7. k.will - you call it romance (ft. davichi)
again with the monsta x hype lol, this mv features hyungwon. i'm not sure why i can't find the mv to this but i just can't? i'm just joking i've always adored k.will's music because it's just the sweetest and the greatest. the mv is so relatable because i cannot have a boy look at me for more than 2 seconds or else i will assume that he likes me. #GrowingUpUgly problems tbh. davichi's addition to this song is so perfect. their voices are rather huskier than other girls in the kpop industry and that's really something that i can appreciate.
8. wjsn - secret
not gonna lie i wasn't all into this song until a few hours ago. these girls are queens and i don't even know all of them except for exy! doesn't exy look like minwoo from boyfriend though? that fucked me over for a bit. this song is so cute and the chorus is my cup of tea. i wasn't all impressed with their debut but this mv blew me away. the theme for the mv is pink and galaxy-ish, and the whole mv just is my aesthetic. starship has been so underrated lately and i'm not sure why, but check this mv out! these girls need all the love they can get.
9. winner - empty
yoooooooo, winner's fans are no joke. i really liked them since their team A days, even though i was more biased towards team B lolol. this song is so beautiful and it just shows how much a man really needs a woman, like not the thirsty way though, the more feminist way ahahhahehuhe okay no. i feel as if seungyoon's voice matches this song really well. it reminds me of junhwe of ikon's voice but a bit deeper, and yg's so lucky to have picked up those gems. after listening to empty i feel really empty after it ends, not sure why. it's da winner effect.
10. agust d - agust d
and last but not least, as expected from min yoongi's wife, she will support her husband in what ever he does (it also wouldn't be august without something from AGUST d!!! hahahah!! lol!!!). this song will fucking cremate you, that's really it. his long awaited mixtape did NOT disappoint and i'm so happy that he's receiving so much support. yoongi (agust d) is genuinely a charming man that loves what he does, hence him giving out links for free downloads. this alone sets him apart from everybody else. he's not in it for the money and i love that. he's been brave enough to open up about his depression and anxiety in his track, "the last", which is also one of my favorites. i strongly despise how armys describe him as a lazy, grumpy, old man. clearly he is an open fire that is never grumpy nor lazy, but rather passionate. please continue to support our daegu boy!
this concludes this issue of "TOP 10 MOST ADDICTING SONGS". i"m not exactly sure if this'll be an every month kind of thing since it is very time consuming and i will be starting school very soon, but i will try to do TOP 5's or something of that sort. thanks for tuning in!
xoxo, child.
BONUS SONG -
lowkey lit tho!!!
